Recent social marketing studies show that e-cigarettes are being heavily endorsed for young adults. Currently, there are no regulations in place to control the advertising of e-cigarettes. Manufacturers are using computer games, billboards, social media and celebrities to promote and attract young people. Although e-cigarettes are healthier than traditional cigarettes, manufacturers are more interested in selling e-cigarettes as cool and hip. Health experts believe that e-cigarettes may serve as a effective alternative to cigarettes, but they are afraid the branding will attract another generation of smokers.
