The tour ourist industry in Canada is losing its preferred position because of problems with airplane access and with marketing, said David Goldstein, head of the Tourism Industry of Canada. Goldstein spoke at a town hall meeting in Regina, where he lauded Canada as a tourist destination, but called attention to the fact that the country has slipped from seventh to eighteenth place in international tourism because of the cost of plane flights, an outdated aviation policy, and a reduced overall investment in international marketing.
